FAQ

  • What environments are your sensors designed for?
Our sensors are engineered for harsh industrial environments and can be tailored for high-temperature, high-vibration, or wet conditions. Customers have used our sensors in highly acidic environments, thousands of feet below the ocean, and other difficult environments.
  • What are applications that use ferrous metal proximity sensors?
Ferrous metal proximity sensors are commonly used in industrial environments where reliable detection of steel or iron components is critical. Typical applications include assembly verification, where sensors confirm the presence or position of metallic parts on production lines; metal permeability testing, where sensors assess material consistency or integrity; and robotics control systems, where precise metal detection enables automation tasks such as alignment, positioning, or end-of-arm tool verification. Their non-contact operation and durability make them ideal for harsh conditions in manufacturing, automotive, packaging, and automation industries.
  • What types of magnetic sensors do you manufacture?
We specialize in ferrous metal proximity sensors, magnetic tape tracking sensors, and custom-designed magnetic sensor solutions.
  • How accurate are your magnetic tracking sensors?
Accuracy depends on application specifics, but our standard tape tracking sensors typically offer sub-millimeter resolution and high repeatability.
  • Do your sensors require calibration?
Most of our sensors are factory-calibrated and ready to use. Some custom or advanced systems may require field calibration, which can be easily completed by the customer if necessary.
  • Can I use your sensors with non-ferrous materials?
Our standard ferrous metal proximity sensors detect only ferrous metals - but can do so through non-ferrous metals. A gap through non-ferrous metal gives the same indication as through an air gap of the same distance. However, the sensors can be used to determine the magnetic permeability - a main indicator of a metal's quality - of metals, and ensure that there is no other metal contaminates. For non-ferrous applications, we offer custom solutions or alternative sensing technologies.
  • Can you design a sensor for my unique application?
Yes — we specialize in custom sensor design and can tailor form factor, sensing range, housing, connectors, and mounting to fit your needs. We even offer custom engraving services!
  • How long does it take to develop a custom sensor?
Typical development timelines range from 4–12 weeks depending on project complexity, requirements, and testing needs.
  • What’s the minimum order for custom sensors?
We do not have a minimum order quantity! We support low-volume prototyping up to large-scale production runs.
  • How do you ensure quality of your sensors?
We have all of our final-stage manufacturing in house so that we can closely inspect every sensor. Every sensor must pass strict quality control testing over a wide variety of specs.
  • What is your lead time for standard products?
Most standard sensors ship within 3–7 business days, however we can offer expedited manufacturing options, reducing lean time to 2-3 business days depending on availability. Custom designs require longer lead times based on project scope.
  • What technical support do you offer?
We offer full application engineering support, including sensor selection, wiring guidance, and troubleshooting.
  • What warranty do you offer on your sensors?
Our sensors come with a standard 1-year warranty. Extended warranties and support contracts are also available.
  • Do you offer international shipping?
Yes — we ship globally and can provide export documentation upon request.
  • What industries do you serve?
We support applications in automation, material handling, AGVs, robotics, manufacturing, packaging, and more.
  • Can your sensors be integrated with PLCs or microcontrollers?
Yes — our sensors are compatible with most control systems. We offer output options including analog, digital, and serial.
  • Do you offer magnetic tape for your tracking sensors?
Yes — we supply high-precision magnetic tape compatible with our sensors and provide installation support if needed.
